dready vagabondia

The yacht Vagabondia, was designed by Cox & Stevens, Inc., and constructed in 1928 at Kiel, Germany, by Germaniawerftr for Mr. William L. Mellon, the Pittsburgh financier and industrialist, who founded and headed the Gulf Oil Corporation

In 1941 she was acquired by the US Navy, renamed Azurlite  and simultaneously designated PY-22.

Following the war, Azurlite was decommissioned and sold to J. S . Webster & Sons in 1947.  She continued in service as a freighter and passenger ship until 1968, when she was sold.
