dready aston martin for marek

dready aston martin db5 with marek reichman as james bond - 28x17
                          original remarque on canvas

marek reichman is the evp of design at aston martin

bond and jamaica go way back and so does my family, in the vaguest sense - my great uncle reggie, a law agent in highgate, found and dealt with the sale of the land for goldeneye and the building of the house on behalf of ian fleming - and so as part of a solo show in jamaica I had drawn the 'dready' bond version of this ... the theme for the show, in my head, had been this cross over of art and advertising and so had done a series of 'movie poster' size dreadys.

dready has this vibe of a mash-up between poster and pop art anyhow if they had a baby who was a west indian comedian ...

... and at the same time I was doing this I had drawn the bond version to insert into another piece of art for a bond fan.

in the end than, marek is a remarque of 2 other ideas ... same vibe but different vibe, different sky ... i like the night sky ...

coolness ...

dready for Cayman Cookout

dready 'how to cook curry goat' - 16x5 - unlimited edition HD archival pigment print

the ritz-carlton cayman cookout happens every year as the opening salvo of culinary month ... it is hosted by chef eric ripert and his friends jose andres and anthony bourdain and includes some of the best chefs in the world: 5 days of culinary events ...

it has both local and visiting chef elements to it, with special event days, beach barbeque and cook offs and local chef's competing ...

year before last dready did a menu drawing for the VIP guests, this year another 'official' drawing ...
full disclosure, haven't met the chef's ... I was sent images by the ritz marketing and the visit the cayman islands crew.

but I had this idea that here were 3 of the world's great chef's, at on one of their cooking panels, and they had to ask the audience how to cook curry goat ... the goat himself, looks surprised to be there!

It must take a particular temperament to survive the pace of a kitchen, i mean, I can cook 1 meal for 14 people, but imagine juggling 7 main course choices and everything else for 40 people a sitting ... the madness of a kitchen in full tilt ... so praise due

big up ...

dready - ocean home magazine

dready ocean home magazine feb 2018

"with an incredible use of colour ... and the scenery is not something that has been seen before" Patrick McAleenan, UK

It's always nice to hear positive things about yourself ...

I have been very fortunate that people have taken to dready the way that they have, hard to imagine how it has grown from its roots a little caribbean company just doing our thing, to something a bit bigger ...

selling your art all over the place ...

but still just doing our thing, which is cool.

big love ...

dready and the maserati

dready 'emma wants to know why' - 50x16 - original commission

some clients are old, some clients are young, some are in between, some are boys, some are girls, married, single, with or without pets, gay, straight or a mixture in between ... dready has an interesting, eclectic, cool clientele

danny's young, he's almost done with university and he's been wanting a personalised dready, wanted something to reflect his likes in life and something that would fill a large space in his apartment.

he likes maseratis, and he likes the dready chickens and definitely, definitely the goat, had to have the goat ... and he wasn't sure whether he liked the look of, the vibe of emma or emily, perhaps both ...

dready s yellow sky

dready s 'yellow sky' - kimpton seafire residences closing gift - 36x13 - limited edition
                                                            HD archival pigment print

some days you get lucky ... the sky was lucky; pam said you should try a stronger colour and i did ... and i worked on a few and chose the one that she was happiest with ... and in the end it's the sky that makes the difference.

i had done another kimpton-seafire dready for someone, a view from the beach, and it had some characteristics that I didn't want to replicate, wanted this to be completely different ... this was to be a closing gift, for the seafire residences to give to new buyers of the apartments; which again is a pretty nice bit of luck for me.

and bicycles and dogs are a big part of the kimpton experience ...

bless up ...
